Tony Parker out for the rest of the playoffs after needing surgery to repair a ruptured left quadriceps tendon
With the news of Tony Parker needing surgery to repair a ruptured left quadriceps tendon, how can they possibly make any more noise in the playoffs
San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker will miss the rest of the team’s playoff run after suffering a leg injury Wednesday night during Game 2 of the Spurs’ second-round series against the Houston Rockets, the Spurs announced on Thursday.
Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical first reported San Antonio suspected Parker needed season-ending surgery on the ailment earlier on Thursday, and the Spurs confirmed in their press release that Parker “suffered a ruptured left quadriceps tendon” and would be out for the foreseeable future.
Tony Parker was the guy in San Antonio that held that offense together. Obviously, Kawhi is the killer on the floor, but Parker was playing great in these playoffs. Now, this is a pretty terrible and painful injury. It makes me squirm even thinking about tearing the quad. I’m sure you can come back from that but at 34 How do you? Most of this team is slow and old. I think that this will be the last time for a while we might see a dominant Spurs team. Sure they are going to be always good but not like they are now.
The Spurs in my mind were at least going to make the series interesting between them and the Warriors after they beat the Rockets. None of that is going to happen now. I’ll be very surprised if they make it past the Houston and if they do the Warriors are going to handle them now.
