The next fourth round selection by the Chicago Bears another FCS player from North Carolina A&T RB Tarik Cohen
The next pick by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round is another FCS kid named Tarik Cohen, a running back for North Carolina A&T
It’s blowing my mind the number of FCS players that the Chicago Bears drafted this year. One is too many but we got another one in Tarik Cohen. The most talked about thing from this guy isn’t his school but the fact that he is 5’6 and had one of the coolest catches I’ve ever seen.
Apart from this Tarik Cohen obviously had a lot of success in the FCS. Over his four seasons at North Carolina A&T he gathered more than 5,600 yards. Cohen scored four touchdowns of 80+ yards. He is listed at 180 lbs but I’d say he is closer to 160 at best. Everyone is trying to give this guy a Darren Sproles comparison. Looking for that mismatch coming out of the backfield on a bigger slower linebacker on 3rd downs.
The problem with this is why the hell did we draft a running back? If I’m not mistaken we are pretty solid at the position with the biggest surprise of last season in Jordan Howard. Tarik Cohen doesn’t fit in this offense. Unless we are going to completely change our offense and get more to a spread is he going to take touches away from Jeremy Langford. Langford looks pretty good last year also. There was a bunch of other guys we could have taken other than this guy who could have made more of an impact.
If you wanted to get some better defense which is what the Chicago Bears needed a Howard Wilson CB from Houston would have been nice. If you were stuck on an offensive player why not a Ryan Switzer WR from North Carolina to maybe step in and take Eddie Royal’s job. There were still plenty of people left on the board to take over Tarik Cohen who could have made a difference not a guy with a nickname of the human joystick. Here are some highlights.
