I don’t know how everyone feels about this but seeing this has always rubbed me the wrong way. There are certain things that people I don’t think know about college athletes in these schools. I think there is a perception that they are super well taken care of and they are star athletes so get whatever they need. The one that comes to mind for me is a couple of years ago Shabazz Napier came out to the press that there are plenty of nights that he goes to sleep hungry. Now I know that most people will have a fuck these guys moment I know I did but just think most of these athletes don’t go pro. Actually an overwhelming amount don’t go pro and there are also a large amount of these athletes who don’t come from money. A small rule that these kids have too life by in college that they can’t have a job so their is no extra money for them. And really I say fuck you to the people who think that education should be enough of a payment. If I had to take a stab at how many of these kids graduate I would bet it’s under 10% on average. With this amount of crazy money these schools get in their profit sharing they could easily help these players out instead of lining their pockets and their boosters pockets I’m assuming. Maybe if they did this they might actually get to know these kids in college again before they leave after one year.
