North Carolina bringing the band back together with Theo Pinson coming back for his senior year
Now North Carolina will have their core back as Theo Pinson will forgo the draft and come back for his senior season to most likely win another championship
Theo Pinson, a perimeter starter on the University of North Carolina’s 2017 national championship-winning team, will return to UNC for his senior season. Pinson had submitted his name to the NBA last week to continue to explore his options in advance of the NBA Draft.
The Greensboro, N.C., native averaged 6.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 21 games last year, and had 14 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists in Final Four wins over Oregon and Gonzaga. He made one of the season’s key plays when he grabbed an offensive rebound and dribbled out the clock after a missed free throw with seconds to play in the semifinal win over Oregon.
Love this move by Theo Pinson to come back his senior year. He didn’t average enough to even be a difference in the NBA. I think that he just saw a pro career in front of him and jumped at it a little too prematurely. Looks like the greatest coach in college basketball, Roy Williams (yeah he is), got in his ear and finally broke it down to him. Theo Pinson would be a little outmatched in the NBA right now. Pinson can now put in the work for one more year to up his game.
Now that North Carolina has their core back for one more year good luck to the rest of college. I’m already calling a repeat to one of my favorite events in life.
He needs to bring this to his college career and he might be a lottery pick
