Former Bears LB Khaseem Greene arrested and charged in shooting
The former Chicago Bear Khaseem Greene was indicted by a grand jury for weapon possession from a December shooting in Elizabeth
Khaseem Greene was a linebacker picked during the Phil Emery era that was drafted to be the next Lance Briggs for the Bears. If you don’t remember Briggs was on the outs with the franchise off and on for a few years with the team and there was no one on the team to take the position. Greene was a good prospect out of Rutgers that was looked upon to fill the role. The outside linebacker had good size and speed. It for sure didn’t pan out like they thought he would like many other draft picks in that era and mostly played special teams and every once in a while saw the field.
After the Chicago Bears threw him away he spent time with a couple of teams most recently the Chiefs which he was just cut yesterday with the news he was the primary suspect in a shooting incident in New Jersey.
“A LINEBACKER IN THE NFL WHO STARRED AT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY HAS BEEN CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH A SHOOTING IN NEW JERSEY.
A GRAND JURY INDICTED KHASEEM GREENE FOR WEAPON POSSESSION ON TUESDAY IN A DECEMBER SHOOTING IN ELIZABETH, WHERE GREENE IS FROM.
THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS RELEASED THE LINEBACKER ON TUESDAY. GREENE SIGNED WITH THE TEAM IN JANUARY. HIS LAWYER WASN’T IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE FOR COMMENT.
NJ.COM REPORTS A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT SAYS GREENE WAS SEEN ON CAMERA HANDING A GUN TO ANOTHER MAN WHO FIRED INTO A CROWD.”
That is a bad character guy that someone should have spotted before he was drafted. I don’t think you just turn into a start a shooting type of guy. Just another showing of how bad the Bears were at analyzing talent.
