NCAA Women’s Basketball Preview
On Monday the NCAA put out their list of the teams that would be making the tournament if the season ended today. This is something they will do 3 more times before the tournament starts March 13. The committee gave out who they would be giving the 1 seeds too UConn, Baylor, South Carolina and Mississippi State. Really no surprise here so I am going to do a little break down of the top 4 teams.
Women’s basketball is still being tore up by this UConn’s women team. They are riding a 34 game road win streak right now. Coming off a big 91-44 win over East Carolina, the huskies are being led by a 6’3 SO named Katie Lou Samuelson. UConn is also highlighted by Kia Nurse also scored her 1,000 pt monday night. After losing a stunner last year to Stanford this team just doesn’t drop games.
The Texas team is ranked #2 this year right behind UConn. This is big for them holding this position because it gives you home field advantage in the Tournament.
They Bears are lead by Nina Davis the 5’11 forward who is up for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award. She is also a 2 time USBWA all american. Nina is averaging 20 pts a game.
They just squeaked out a win over Mississippi State with a 3 point win 64-61. A’ja Wilson scores with 26 leading the gamecocks to victory. They are 17-1 and leading their conference right now. This big win against Mississippi State propelled them to one of the best teams in the country.

The number 4 ranked team in the country with that big lose from South Carolina will be looking for redemption the rest of the year. With a 20-1 record this year being led by forward Alaina Coates will be looking to even up the score by wining a championship this year.
This tournament like every year is Uconn and the field. With the tough opponents this year lets see if someone can upset the Champions.
