NBA white guy of the day Jud Buechler
Even with his short time on the Bulls Jud will always be a Chicago guy to me. His run to help the bulls three peat will put this guy in the HOF for me.
Judson Donald ‘Jud’ Buechler grew up in Poway California and went to the high school there. He was actually a top recruit as a men’s volleyball player as well as basketball. Jud ended up attending the University of Arizona where he earned All PAC 10 honors. He also became an All American playing volleyball and got the awesome nickname ” The Judge”.
Jud was picked in the 1990 draft by the SuperSonics and was immediately traded to the Nets. In the draft he was picked before Antonio Davis and Cedric Ceballos. This was the Derrick Coleman and Gary Payton draft with many other studs too. My other favorite Bull Toni Kukoc. He played there for a little over a season before getting cut in 1991.
With a cup of coffee with the Spurs then he got picked up by the Warriors where he started to get some playing time off the bench in 92. The Bulls got him in 94 where he ad his best stint in the NBA from 94-98. Where his clutch shooting and good defense off the bench helped the Bulls win 3 championships.
Fun stat for Jud is that he is the All time NBA leader for playing minutes without getting any stats. Don’t care still love the guy. Here are some highlights.
