A look at a possible Chicago Bulls draft pick SG Donovan Mitchell
The Chicago Bulls looking to get younger and more athletic might want to take Donovan Mitchell with their number 16 overall pick
With the upcoming NBA draft, I’m going to be taking a look at all the possible picks that the Chicago Bulls might make. Shooting guard Donovan Mitchell might just be on the radar at the number 16 pick. I have seen several different websites stating that his height is somewhere between 6’1″ and 6’3″ so I’m sure he is somewhere in between. The Louisville guard has a 6’10” wingspan which is excellent considering his height.
In my eyes, the Chicago Bulls should finally draft towards Fred Hoiberg’s offense, and he would fit the mold. Players that will continually push the ball up court and head to the rim is what they are looking for in the draft. Either way, you look at it Mitchell is an upgrade over Cameron Payne and Jerian Grant.
Now Donovan Mitchell showed some flash at the NBA combine this year posting the highest standing vertical leap at 36.5. It matched Iman Shumpert and former NBA Dunk Contest Champ Glen Robinson. He also posted the fasted three-quarter court sprint time at 3.01 seconds which is the quickest time since 2.96 in 2008. For his max vertical Mitchell turned in the fourth best in all the combine with a 40.5 inch. It certainly looks like what the Chicago Bulls need which is an athletic player.
