A look at the hottest prospect in the White Sox organization right now Micker Adolfo
With the plethora of prospects in the White Sox minor league system, none are as hot as a little-known name Micker Adolfo
The talk coming out of spring training was all about the top prospects that are coming out of the White Sox farm system. The White Sox have traded major players to get them, and Chicago right now has 5 in the top 100. Everybody deep into baseball knows Yoan Moncada #1 overall now, Charlotte starter Reynaldo Lopez #23, Michael Kopech in AA #24, Lucas Giolito #40 and catcher Zack Collins #51. All of these players have been doing well for their respective teams, but none have been as hot as Micker Adolfo.
Micker Adolfo has extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a 2-4 outing on Wednesday. Over the hot streak for Adolfo, he is batting .396/.453/.604 with only three walks and ten strikeouts. The 20-year-old made his debut at a young 17 years old, that is one year after the White Sox signed him for $1.6 million.
After spending parts of three seasons in the AZL due to injuries and strikeout issues, Adolfo is back in full season ball at Low-A Kannapolis and hitting .310/.375/.437 after hitting .219 in 65 games there last year. Adolfo is striking out at a 23% clip this season which is down from 32% last year but the scouting reports regarding Adolfo’s expansive, noisy approach are the same. He has prodigious physical tools but still requires significant polish on the offensive side.
Keep your eye on Micker Adolfo another great prospect the White Sox have in their organization.
