Eddie Butler got the call for the Chicago Cubs will start Friday against the Cardinals
The Cubs had to make a move to bring up Eddie Butler from AAA as Brett Anderson is on the DL and they needed a starter for Fridays game against the Cardinals
Every Chicago Cubs fan that has been watching very closely to the organization knew that this was going to happen. Eddie Butler has looked great at the AAA level. If Eddie Butler works out and pitches well I would venture a guess, he will be with the club for the rest of the season. The move needed to be done with his next start wast going to be Friday anyway and with Brett Anderson going on the DL.

The 26-year-old is very impressive this year with a 1.17 ERA over the 30.2 innings pitched this season. The organization is hoping he has finally taken that next step, having a combined 6.50 ERA over his career with the Rockies. The bad news is that he is not striking people out particularly well only at 13.7% and he is walking a lot of individuals at a 6.5% rate. Friday’s game might only be a spot start to help the club so let’s all hope he shows the good stuff.
Here is a look at him.
