Kirk Cousins is now going to make $24 million dollars this year
Meet the luckiest man to ever play football. Kirk Cousins has been franchise tagged for the second year in a row. This upcoming year Kirk will get a fully guaranteed one year deal worth $24 million dollars. They will be looking to give him a long term deal in the offseason or they will lose him after this season.
The 28 yr old QB hitting his prime if you would say that got almost $20 million last year. Last season was his best so far throwing for 4,917 yards with 25 tds and 12 interceptions and went to the Pro Bowl. Now the Redskins have until July 15th to get him signed up for a multi year deal. If they cant reach a deal there then he could actually get tagged a third time and make upwards of $34 million.
This is got to be the craziest situation ever for a player.
“We will cross that bridge when we come to it, but I would probably do what I did last year,” he told ESPN. “I will sign it and play with it. I’m not afraid.”
Kirk Cousins on returning to DC: "I'd love to build something in Washington, we'll see if the decision-makers let that happen."

10 years from now we are going to look back and just not understand what happened here. This guy is an ok QB for sure growing better each year, but Kirk Cousins got $24 million a year. The Redskins are never going to be a threat to win a championship. How do you pay a guy this much?
