Johnny Oduya back with the Hawks
Two years after he helped bring the Lord’s Stanley Cup to Chicago Johnny Oduya is back. The Dallas stars are sending him back for prospect Mark McNeil and a conditional fourth round pick.
It depends on how far the hawks make it in and how much Oduya plays for the pick to move up to a 3rd rounder. Dallas is going to take 50% of his salary. Oduya was going to become a unrestricted free agent after this season so they were just trying to get anything for him.
McNeil, who was a first round pick in 2011, really couldn’t crack into the NHL roster for the Hawks. He has been on the Rockford Icehogs for the last four years and by the looks was never going to crack the big club.
Johnny has had an injury prone year missing a lot of time, missing his last 15 games with an ankle injury. But we basically got him for a bag of hockey pucks.
We are now looking at a ton of depth on our defense and some more toughness on the ice.
