John Jenkins adding some depth and size to Bears D-Line
The Chicago Bears had trouble staying healthy all last season. Even with our defensive front seven being one of our biggest strengths, the need for depth was still there at nose tackle. The problem came up when Eddie Goldman missed a lot of time with a bad ankle sprain all last season. Ryan Pace solved this problem by signing John Jenkins to a one-year deal. Jenkins is the twelfth player added to the Chicago Bears lineup since March nine. He played with Akeim Hicks the Bears defensive end while in New Orleans.
John Jenkins issues
The nose take was drafted in the third round by the New Orleans Saints from Georgia. Last season John was released by the Saints mid season then brought in by the Seahawks. He only totaled thirteen tackles in the nine games he played. The year before Jenkins had a career-high 49 tackles with the Saints starting in twelve games. The 6’3″, 359 pounder has had a battle with weight issues during his career that made him a problem.
Here is John in College. He is 27 years old now. Let’s hope we can get this much production out of him next season.
