Jay Cutler might be the next quarterback to jump into TV broadcasting
The ex-Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is gauging interest from multiple networks to get himself into the TV broadcasting field
The former Chicago Bears quarterback, who has received little interest from teams (at least as an unquestioned starter), is exploring a post-football career in broadcasting, according to multiple television sources and people with knowledge of Cutler’s thinking.
Cutler and his representatives have spoken with network executives about football-related TV roles and sources said Cutler has auditioned with at least one network in recent weeks. It’s unclear how far along Cutler is in the process and whether he’s negotiating a contract, but his audition indicates he’s serious about broadcasting.
Jay Cutler wants to put himself in front of a television camera. I can say from watching this guy for the last eight years he has the personality of a wet, cold uncooked turkey. The amount of time I’ve seen him on tv would lead me to guess that Jay would be terrible at this. Now, most teammates say he is a good man in private so who knows.
The man must just see the writing on the wall. No team wants to pick him up, so the man has to do something. He can’t sit with his crazy anti-vax wife all day. I just can’t see where Jay Cutler would fit in, just like in the NFL. There are no networks that need anybody like this to explain more in depth football. I’ll say though anybody is better than David Deihl so I’d gladly listen to Cutler over him.
