Jamaal Charles signs a one year prove it deal with the Denver Broncos
e Denver Broncos are taking a chance on a small undersized injury prone running back in Jamaal Charles to hopefully provide a spark to the offense
Free agent running back Jamaal Charles has agreed to sign with the Denver Broncos, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. It’s just the second team of his career after he was released by the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this offseason.
Charles met with the Broncos on May 2, and should be a good fit with the team. He won’t see a heavy workload with Devontae Booker and C.J. Anderson already in the team’s backfield. He’s shown his versatility when healthy, and is a low-risk, high re-ward signing for Vance Joseph’s team.
Charles, at age 30 and coming off multiple knee injuries, is still a quality player. Whether his age and durability issues become a problem for the four-time Pro Bowl back remains to be seen, but players as talented as Charles don’t come around too often.
Here we go Broncos’ fans Jamaal Charles has signed. How do you think that makes Chief’s fans feel? I can’t wait to see if this guy has anything left in the tank. That Denver offense needs a guy like Jamaal Charles. A NFL veteran to on that offense with a total prove it deal only $3.7 million for 1 year.
No doubt this guy has to overcome way too many knee injuries in his 9-year career. Crazy this guy is only 30 and has played for 9 years. At one time I would have taken him in the first round of my fantasy draft, Jamaal Charles was so unbelievable.
