Hue Jackson These QB’s Stink Anyway
The news came out today that Hue Jackson was disappointed that DeShaun Watson didn’t play in the senior bowl. Saying “I don’t think that’s the right thing to do. He’s still a draftable player, there’s still a process we have to go through to evaluate him and see if he can fit here with the Cleveland Browns.” Browns have the number 1 and number 12 pick in the draft this year and with all the pressure of getting a star QB you know, they are going to blow one of them on one in the first round. This got me thinking if there was a worst QB draft class than this year so let’s dive into this.
The highlight in my mind in that draft has to be Jameis Winston. With all the baggage that he was bringing with him, I’m pleasantly surprised that he is actually carrying the team to an OK record. I think he is a little fun to watch. Looks like he could be maybe at least be serviceable.
The stink of the draft led by EJ Manual and Geno Smith. The other Qb’s taken that year are Ryan Nassib, Landry Jones, Brad Sorensen and Sean Renfree. All backups that will by contending to get roster spots this summer. Besides EJ Manual in Buffalo, all the rest most likely will not get a snap in the NFL except if something goes horribly wrong.
The highlight is Jay Cutler. I don’t think for his play but he has at least started in the NFL for a long time, even though I think he stinks.
The stink Vince Young, Matt Leinart, Kellen Clemens. Most of these guys are just totally out of the league or are career backups.
The highlight of this draft is Chris Chandler. He had a bunch of success and playoff wins for multiple teams. I actually liked this guy for the short stint he had on the bears. It was probably because he was taking the spot off in a turnstile of QB’s that the Bears had in the late 90’s. They were extremely fun bad to watch. Henry Burris.
(yeah that’s him better at wearing a bra than being a Bears QB)
The stink was Tom Tuppa. Yeah, the punter. He was the first QB drafted in that class 3 round. Tommy took 3 years before taking his natural position as a punter where he actually made some pro bowls.
I feel in my years of watching football I know enough to make an educated position. There are two things in the world to be true: 1. The sun rises…… if you want to know the answer ask Jared Goff and B. the Browns ruin drafted quarterbacks.
