It was a home run kind of weekend Cubs grab another tie vs the Rangers 9-9
Wade Davis finally made his debut over the weekend, although it didn’t go too great. Mr. Davis gave up a walk and three singles on the first four guys he faced. Not too hot but it’s spring training. He got one strike out against my favorite name in baseball Rougned Odor but was pulled right after.
John Lester put in some work too allowing three hits, two runs and struck out one. He only threw 36 pitches.
Jeimer Candelario is starting to get a lot of Buzz around him. He lit up the weekend and really has been lighting up all of spring training. In the last two games the 23 year old has 5/6. On Saturday he was a home run away from a cycle. Not really sure where he could play for the Cubs right now we have no room for him in the infield. Maybe trade bait in the next couple years for a big time starter when Arrieta leaves.

Albert Almora Jr. spoked a grand slam in the fifth inning Sunday. I don’t think anyone can be more happy with how these young guys are starting out here. The only thing to bitch about is Heyward still not really hitting. This is the second grand slam the cubs have gotten in as many days with Kris Bryant smoking one on Saturday.
Tommy La Stella also hit a long ball and drove in two runs.
Next game up today is at the Angels 2:10 start time. Arrieta with throw fire from the mound to start.
