Alright Chicago Bulls Kyle Lowry confirms that he will test free agency
The Chicago Bulls should give everything even the kitchen sink to land Kyle Lowry as he opts out of his contract and will enter free agency this summer
The Toronto Raptors star point guard Kyle Lowry confirmed on Monday morning that he would opt out of his contract and become a free agent this summer. Confirmed by Marc Stein of the ESPN.
Lowry who is 31 had an excellent year in 2016-17 averaging 22 pts 7 assists and a steal. He also averaged 41 % from behind three-point land. The contract for Kyle Lowry was only going to net him $12 million next season.
“A ring. Nothing else. I just want a ring,” Lowry said Monday, per Blake Murphy of Raptors Republic.
I don’t think I have even to say that the Chicago Bulls should be doing whatever they can to get this guy. Any amount of money that he wants just give it to him. Lowry could completely turn this team around next season. If he can come in and start with Rondo off the bench would be huge. The Bulls could finally put a point guard out there they aren’t embarrassed by out of the eight they had on their roster last season. We can now see just what Gar/Pax can do in the offseason. The salary cap might get in the way, but this move needs to get done for the sake of my sanity. There are going to be teams that we are going to have to go against like the Spurs perhaps, but we will see.
