A terrible first period sees the Chicago Blackhawks down 1-0 against the Nashville Predators
The Chicago Blackhawks might have had a little bit too much time off. The way they started off this game they looked out of sorts, to say the least. The first 15 minutes of this game they didn’t even get a shot on goal. You would figure that some of the best NHL players on earth could have thrown a couple pucks at the net during the beginning of the first period but no. My dumb hockey brain thought that the Blackhawks were on their way to possible sweeping or at least roughing up the Nashville Predators. I 100% didn’t think they would lose a game at home. Now one thing I’m def. not going to do is panic. There shouldn’t be a Hawks fan out there that should panic. This is the best team in hockey and they have won three so we are still in a good spot.
The one goal in this affair was scored by Filip Forsberg. He got a puck to get redirected off Viktor Arvidsson to skip past Crawford 7:52 into the first period.
We really have to figure out a way to own Pekka Rinne. I think I forgot just good this guy can be and a 6’5″ goalie which can make things problematic for the Hawks. After their crap first period, they showed up in the second dominating Nashville.
The reactions after the game should all be disappointment. The BlackHawks should really get a fire lit under their ass going into the second game tonight.
