The Chicago Bears adding pieces in Brad Sowell that should compete for a starting job at tackle
With the tackle position, a big question coming into the season the Chicago Bears sign up Brad Sowell to compete for a starting job
Sowell, 27, started the first six games of last season at left tackle for the Seahawks, but lost his job to George Fant after suffering a knee injury. Sowell later started three games at right tackle before being replaced by Garry Gilliam.
I am liking what I see here. The Chicago Bears have a real problem at tackle. Bringing in Brad Sowell would at the very least come in and compete for a starting job. They got no real help at O-line in the draft so this could be a big move. The last thing I want to see is Bobby Massie out there again whiffing blocks all year. The interior of the Chicago Bears might all be potential pro bowlers from here on out and we need to be at least competent on the outside of the line.
Brad Sowell has been in the league since 2012 when he was picked up as a free agent by the colts. Sowell has spent the bulk of his NFL career with the Cardinals and started 6 games for the Seahawks last season.
