Atlanta Motor Speedway the only good thing in Atlanta
I’ll get the crash video out of the way first
Kevin Harvick took the pole coming into Sunday. With a nice lap speed of 190.398 he is looking for a little redemption in this race having had the best car here the last 3 years but turning up empty. He has led 442 laps here but didn’t win anything.
Ryan Newman will also start in the front row with a speed of 189.70. Then the first Bush brother Kyle at 189.850 and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at 188.854.
Kyle Bush has the best car out there most likely so he will be my pick to click.
Looking at the qualifying and the practice runs this one might be a repeat of Daytona. There was at least three crashes during this time. All the cars looked real loose in turn four. After this Sunday the speedway is going to get repaved to help relieve some of the slickness from the track.
Earnhardt Jr. said about it.
“I expect it to drive good. I love the race track. I know they’re going to repave it after this year, so, we’ll try to enjoy the last race on that old asphalt, because it’s hard to beat the surfaces that get aged like that.”
The start time for the race is 1:30 eastern time.
