AFC Championship Showdown
Just going to say I’m not going to pretend that there isn’t going to be biased in this article. I grew up in Pittsburgh. I have a terrible towel and one of my earliest memories as a kid was walking down town Pittsburgh around 3 Rivers. The all time record between these two teams is 15-14 Steelers. Now lets talk about the Matchups.
I don’t know what you can say about Brady that hasn’t already been said. I obviously hate the guy and can’t wait to see the Patriots fall apart when he is gone and the fact he is 39 it is going to happen soon. Big Ben had a problem scoring in the redzone last week against KC, throwing a pick. Brady has tore us up the Steelers of late.
Bell has gone for 788 rush yards in his last 5 games. He has just looked unstoppable of late. With that and his catching out of the back field or lining up at WR he is a 5 tool player. Deon Lewis and LeGarrette Blount are the two backed approach. They average a respectable 117 rush yrds per game. Great players but not ones that will win you games against Pitts D. I’ve always wanted to put this in an article Love me some LeGarrette Blount in College.
Tom Brady has been relatively clean all year with just getting sacked 15 times. That is with a very young o-line with a rookie and two 2nd year players pulling their weight. But with that continuity also they sometimes show their youth as in the last game getting knocked around a bit by the Texans. They have done a good enough job to not be in the way which is all they need to do.
The Steelers o-line is a veteran, grizzled masterpiece that you all wish you could have played behind. They are big and very athletic which has allowed Le’veon Bell be so ridiculous of late.
This is James Harrison a day after the Steelers game against Kansas City. 39 yrs old and a stud. The Steelers defense has been good forever and will always pride ourselves on taking no name guys sticking them at outside linebacker and they become near hall of famers( looking at you Levon Kirkland, Joey Porter, and Jason Gildon). This year its Bud Dupree who has been a nightmare in the last couple of games.
On the flip side the patriots defense has been performing also as they should but haven’t really faced any good qb’s except for week 10 Seattle. They rushing defense has been very stout having not let anyone get over 100 yards all year. Where they are going to be weak is LB covering Bell coming out of the back field. I’m going to have some bias on Shea McClellin having had to watch that white lightening in chicago.
There is two ways that Pittsburgh gets this win. Le’veon bell plays out of his mind and Ben Doesn’t throw any interceptions. I’m picking the Steelers again because of my bias and I’m betting the +6 and the over 50.5
