49ers GM John Lynch doesn’t want to screw up just yet willing to trade that 2nd overall pick
Lynch is in the news being noncommittal in using their 2nd overall pick in the NFL draft on Apr 27. With the third year of having losing seasons they really need to bring in some young talent and the more picks the better to me. The big obvious reason for me is that he doesn’t want to get a bust in his first year as a GM. That would be a horrible thing that would happen for him in his first year. He hasn’t ever had the title or a job as an NFL exec.
“We could stay pat right there and find a fabulous player, a game-changing player,” general manager John Lynch said, in the San Francisco Chronicle. “It gives us a lot of flexibility to do some other things if we chose to be bold. There are going to be people that covet the pick we have, so there’s going to be some people that want to move up.”
The 9ers are in a big need for a QB maybe. We will see what Shannahan brings to the table. He might be able to make something out of Kaepernick. Colin did make the Super Bowl a few years ago and is athletic but needs to work on his accuracy.
The organization I think is actually making a smart move. They can trade back into the 1st round maybe get a QB there and some 2nd and 3rd round picks. The pick will be there for any team that needs to get that one stud defensive player in this draft.
“The worst mistakes you can make is you take a guy who isn’t that good of a player, or worthy of that,” Shanahan said.
