Rami Malek confirms romance with Bohemian Rhapsody star

Bohemian Rhapsody became the highest-grossing music biopic in cinema history after it generated more than $600m worldwide at the box office.

It was a good night for Oh, who as well as co-hosting her first Golden Globe ceremony was named best television drama actress for BBC America thriller "Killing Eve".

Alfonso Cuaron's much lauded Netflix film Roma, which won two awards on Sunday, will be allowed to qualify for best film at the Oscars.

Boy, oh boy is Lady Gaga in for one special award season.

"Green Book", which follows a tour between pianist Don Shirley and Tony Vallelonga, won best picture (musical or comedy) and best supporting actor for Mahershala Ali.

They were A Star Is Born, At Eternity's Gate, Boy Erased, Bohemian Rhapsody and BlacKkKlansman. During her routine, Oh made fun of white actors performing Asian roles.

"The Americans" beat out "Homecoming", the new Julia Roberts show about a counselor at a mysterious treatment center for returning veterans, and "Killing Eve", about the treacherous rivalry between two risky women, a British intelligence officer and an assassin. "He lifted me up to be everything I could be in this film", the 37-year-old said.

The two big awards of the night going to Bohemian Rhapsody was a surprise to some who thought A Star is Born was going to clean up on the night.

With the exception of "Mrs. Maisel", none of last year's TV nominees were nominated again this time around - partly because hits like "Game of Thrones" and "Master of None" didn't air new episodes in 2018. Lady Gaga, whose soulful performance anchored "A Star Is Born", had been considered the favorite.

And Glenn Close urged women to stand up and take credit, like her character in The Wife eventually does.

"The power of movies is that it brings us all together", he said.

"This is beyond anything we ever imagined when we began shooting", said director and writer Peter Farrelly.

"This is a profound honour to receive this and to be counted among such extraordinary actors".

"Thank you to Freddie Mercury for giving me the joy of a lifetime", said Malek to a room filled with applause.

Olivia Colman, who plays Queen Anne in offbeat royal romp The Favourite, and Bale won as expected in the comedy acting races. The victor of the bunch being Green Book.
