Carson Wentz questionable for Philadelphia Eagles at Los Angeles Rams

As if this season hasn't already been insane enough for the Philadelphia Eagles, fans received quite the surprising news on Wednesday that Carson Wentz may not only miss Sunday night's game against the Los Angeles Rams, but could even be shut down for the remainder of 2018.

Carson Wentz has a "stress injury that has evolved over time and it requires zero surgery to heal", Philadelphia Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Friday, Dec. 14, 2018.

"We're going to rest him and continue to evaluate him and make sure he's good", Pederson said.

This task has gotten much more hard with star quarterback Carson Wentz now out of the mix due to a back injury that has bothered him throughout the season. He was a limited participant on consecutive Wednesdays in late October, but this marks the first time he has missed a practice this season.

Foles also started the first two games of the 2018 season before Wentz returned, going 1-1 before Wentz took over in Week 3.

Now it's unclear if he'll be able to play.

This means that the Eagles, at 6-7 and fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive, will turn to last year's Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles with three games left in the regular season.

"Again, we're going to focus on today, get through today, and see where he's at at the end of the day", he added.
