Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg to host 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Kiwi actress Thomasin McKenzie was not nominated for her role in "Leave No Trace".

The winners in the film categories...

But it was far from a runaway win for Vice since the press association typically spread its awards around.

Additionally, only five women have ever earned a nomination.

Drama: "The Americans", "Bodyguard", "Homecoming", "Killing Eve", "Pose".

FX continued its streak as the premium basic cable channel with expected nominations for the "Versace" limited series and its stars, Emmy victor Darren Criss, Penelope Cruz and Edgar Ramirez.

Curiously, the Hollywood Foreign Press doesn't consider foreign-language films for best film, so Alfonso Cuaron's acclaimed Netflix drama Roma was left out of the Globes' top category.

The original push centered on "The Dark Knight", Christopher Nolan's sequel to "Batman Begins", which failed to receive a best-picture nomination (although Heath Ledger was honored, posthumously, for his role as the Joker).

Meanwhile, Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody scored nominations for Best Motion Picture - Drama and Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama for Rami Melek. "Green Book", a comedy-drama about the unlikely friendship between a black concert pianist (Mahershala Ali) and the white driver (Viggo Mortensen) hired to safely escort him through a segregated South, was a big victor, scoring five nominations. "The Alienist" also received a lot of love this year.

Its most prestigious and highest rated drama, "This Is Us", was shut out of the 2019 Golden Globe nominations. The Annapurna Pictures release, starring Christian Bale (also nominated) as the former VP, is a critical portrait of Cheney that portrays him as a power-hungry, behind-the-scenes tyrant. At the previous Globes, presenter Natalie Portman pointedly introduced the all-male directing nominees. The studio behind it, A24, had a hard year in general with the Globes, securing only one nomination for Elsie Fisher's breakout performance in the coming-of-age movie "Eighth Grade". He was given the group's Cecil B DeMille achievement award in 1994. "Isle of Dogs", "Incredibles 2" and "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" were three of the nominated animated films. The Killing Eve star and the Brooklyn Nine-Nine comedian will follow in the footsteps of this year's host, Seth Meyers, in January. And Samberg is no stranger to hosting award ceremonies: He also emceed the Emmys back in 2015.
