Salman Khan tops Forbes India celebrity list, again

Deepika is the only woman to be in the top ten this year with Alia Bhatt making it to the 12th spot in the list.

Surprisingly, superstar Shah Rukh Khan has not managed to grab a slot in top 10 and is at number 13 followed by Rajinikanth at number 14.

The 52-year-old star bagged the numero uno spot on Forbes India Celebrity 100 list.

The rankings are compiled based on estimates of entertainment-related earnings of celebrities between October 1, 2017 and September 30, 2018.

15 celebrities from South Indian Cinema also made it to the list. If that's not exciting then this will be - Deepika Padukone has moved up seven places from #11 a year ago to #4 now.

Actor Salman Khan topped the list for the third consecutive year with Rs 253.25 crore earned through his film releases, TV appearances and brand endorsements.

"Padmaavat" took Deepika Padukone's earnings to Rs 112.8 crore - she was at sixth and 11th place in 2016 and 2017 respectively. With Rs 228.09 Cr earnings, it's Virat Kohli, who stand on 2nd position in the list of Forbes India Celebrity 100.

Aamir Khan, Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Sachin Tendulkar and Ajay Devgn follow next in the top 10 bracket. "Besides the earnings charts and cover stories on high-fliers like Sachin Tendulkar, Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone, we have also covered in the Celebrity 100 Special issue a whole new generation of celebrities - the unlikeliest of YouTube stars from the hinterland, a rapper from the Mumbai ghettos and an activist actor from Kerala taking on misogyny head-on in the testosterone driven Malayalam film industry". The Don's earnings were estimated at Rs 56 crore. "Last year, the figure was 17 percent lower at Rs 2,683 crore", Forbes India reports.
