Daredevil Canceled By Netflix After Three Seasons

Daredevil Canceled By Netflix After Three Seasons

Daredevil is the third Marvel/Netflix collaboration to be canceled, leaving Punisher and Jessica Jones as the last remaining series on the streaming provider.

Speaking as fans of the show, we at What's on Netflix are saddened by the cancelation, therefore, we would like to thank the cast and crew for their excellent work on Daredevil.

Netflix recently opened up about how it determines what series to renew and what to cancel, but it's pretty easy to speculate that these Marvel show cancellations are extenuating circumstances.

The fates of Netflix's other Marvel series The Punisher is not known but Jessica Jones' third outing has already been greenlit.

While the Disney-Netflix rivalry makes the Daredevil situation a bit more complicated, a little extra fan engagement never hurts.

The news was broke yesterday evening by Deadline after a representative from Netflix released a statement.

Netflix and Marvel used these street-level heroes to tell smaller-scale stories that stood in stark contrast to the world-ending stakes we'd seen up to that point in films such as Iron Man and Thor.

Still, actor Charlie Cox brought the Daredevil character to life better than his predecessor Ben Affleck (who played him on the big screen).

It's a shame, as every one of these shows pushed the boundaries for what you could do in the comic book genre. First was Iron Fist, which a lot of people saw coming since it was probably the least well received Marvel Netflix series.

What does this mean for the remaining shows?

But like all of the seasons on the Marvel Netflix shows, they ran a lot longer than they originally planned.

Disney-owned Marvel wisely produced a statement in the moments that followed the show's cancellation, in sensing they stood the risk of alienating fans if they didn't say something, anything. "Marvel's Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix", Netflix told Deadline.

As the news of series getting cancelled surfaced the fans all across the globe were shocked and heartbroken but mainly angry at the streaming service.
