Mitch Trubisky doubtful for Thanksgiving day, Tyler Bray promoted to roster

Mitch Trubisky was moved from questionable to doubtful for the final injury report on the eve of the Bears-Lions Thanksgiving matchup as the quarterback recovers from a shoulder injury.

Trubisky suffered a shoulder injury late in Sunday's win over the Vikings. Head coach Matt Nagy is "cautiously optimistic" Trubisky will be able to play on Thursday but do not expect him to practice all week.

"That's the No. 1 thing, is to make sure these guys are taken care of, see where they're at physically and then mentally", Nagy said.

Nagy added that the team doesn't believe the injury is a long-term issue. Bears could activate QB Tyler Bray today to backup Daniel, with possibility that Trubisky now will not dress... The Vikings offense sputtered against the Bears in a game where quarterback Kirk Cousins threw 46 pass attempts versus just 14 rushing attempts for the team in the game. If the Bears survive Thursday, they don't play again for 10 days, when they face the Giants in New Jersey. They have split the season series two of the past three years.

If Trubisky can not go, Chase Daniel will get the start.

Daniel, 32, is 1-1 as an National Football League starter and has completed 51 of 78 for 480 yards with a touchdown pass and an interception. "We're at a point right now, we're going through all that literally on a day-to-day type deal, but we feel very confident it's not [long term]".

Tannehill, 30, completed 85 of 129 passes for 972 yards with eight touchdowns and five interceptions in the Dolphins' first five games this season. The injury is not considered serious, but it could keep him out of the Lions game.

-Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters safety Eric Berry could make his season debut when his team returns to action following the bye week.

"Everyone in this locker room knew what he was going to do, and he didn't let us down", Mizzell said. When you have a different player that's in and in the same position, it doesn't mean that they can do the same thing.
