LeBron James & Other NBA Stars React To Caris LeVert’s Devastating Injury

The pain of every injury worsens when it comes at the most unfortunate time.

Brooklyn Nets guard Caris LeVert (22) is tended to after an injury during the second quarter of an NBA basketball game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, in Minneapolis.

LeVert came down hard on his right leg after colliding with Jeff Teague on an attempted chase-down block. LeVert was rushed to a local hospital while his teammates finished the game, many in tears and several fully expecting him to miss the rest of the season.

Replays of the gruesome injury were not shown in the arena.

"The physical part, it was tough", said LeVert back in January of 2017 during his rookie season. "Guys were crying. It was really that horrific just to see".

The incident was reminiscent of a similar injury to Boston's Gordon Hayward last season, which saw the Celtic suffer a fractured tibia and dislocated ankle.

On the four-game road trip that ended in Minnesota, LeVert scored 26 points in a win at Phoenix, then delivered his second game-winner of the season on Friday night in Denver.

Through the first 14 games of the season, LeVert is averaging a career-high 18.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 29.7 minutes. "He's been just as good of a person as he is a ballplayer, even better person as a matter of fact".
