Barcelona include Messi in squad to face Inter Milan

They're now three points clear at the top of La Liga with 24 points from 11 games.

Barcelona missed the service of Lionel Messi who is recuperating from injury, but it was a nice win for them as they stay top of the Spanish La Lagi with 24 points.

Lionel Messi is in Barcelona's squad for Tuesday's Champions League match at Inter Milan despite fracturing his arm two weeks ago.

Valverde could gamble on the fitness of Messi, however, who is back in training after breaking his arm against Sevilla on October 20. The 31-year-old was named among the 22 men who travelled to Milan on Monday morning, but whether he will get some minutes is still unclear considering that there's still some time to go until his prescribed date of recovery.

Inter welcome Barca to San Siro having won their last seven Serie A matches, but despite strong progress under Luciano Spalletti, Zanetti feels there is more work needed at the club.

Their chances will be significantly boosted if Messi returns but the last fortnight will perhaps have given Barca greater belief too.

"To be in the position we're in going into the fourth game is really good", the coach said. I never made the first step to say I want this player.

Valverde said Messi, who is now out with a broken bone in his right arm, could play against Inter. We know we have to improve, but the important thing is the goal difference.

"The pressure that has suffered the last generation of Argentine footballers has been for the three lost finals, we are a successful country but you cannot measure a group just for that, but for how it reached those finals".
