Rihanna Declined Super Bowl Halftime Show Because of Colin Kaepernick

Maroon 5 is headlining next year's Super Bowl only because Rihanna turned the gig down out of support for Colin Kaepernick, US Weekly reports.

"But she stuck to what's right in her eyes", the source said.

Rihanna reportedly does not agree with the NFL's policy. However, the NFL's stance on player protests has soured the allure for the marquee artists who already have a legion of fans.

"I think it would be cool if @maroon5 backed out of super bowl like @badgalriri did", Schumer continued.

The "No Drama" singer caught up with paparazzi and they asked her what they thought about Rihanna's decision to not sing for the NFL.

'She is definitely being considered, but it's obviously way too early to say for sure, ' one source said. "Just when she walks into a room people feel her presence".

While no official announcement has been made, Adam Levine and his band will reportedly headline the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show.

According to US Weekly, Rihanna cited the NFL's National Anthem controversy, which Kaepernick started in 2016 by taking a knee during the song before games, and the league's updated anthem policy.

The NFL has yet to officially confirm the lineup for this season's Super Bowl halftime show, though it didn't knock down the Maroon 5 news when it was announced last month.
