Machado fined for kicking Brewers’ Aguilar

After singling to left field in the 13th inning, Machado greeted Aguilar with a brief hug at first base, and the two had a conversation between pitches. His Dodgers teammates sprinted from the third base dugout to join him. In the 13th inning Tuesday night, he singled with one out, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored the winning run on Cody Bellinger's walk-off single, just beating the tag at home plate.

"Honestly, I was surprised that they were pitching to me", Bellinger said.

Wade Miley will also make his second start of the NLCS after throwing 5.2 scoreless innings in Game 2. Julio Urias earned the win in relief as the ninth LA pitcher as he gave up one hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning of relief.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell wasn't concerned the incident would distract from his team's focus in the best-of-seven series. Game four had all the makings of a nightmare for the Dodgers and Dave Roberts as Urias jogged from the pen as the last reliever standing. Order was restored quickly, but the Brewers remained incensed that Machado would clip a player while running through the bag.

It irritated Brewers players so much that superstar outfielder Christian Yelich came out after the game to say that it was a "dirty play by a dirty player". "One time is an accident".

"Obviously I'm not going to change, I'm not the type of player that's going to be 'Johnny Hustle, ' and run down the line and slide to first base and ... you know, whatever can happen. It's a dirty play by a dirty player".

ESPN's Pedro Gomez tweeted: "One of the @Brewers players told me that while it was good to hear Manny Machado apologized to Jesus Aguilar, Machado needs to realize that he is known as a dirty ball player who needs to clean up his reputation".

"We had no energy", Hernandez said, according to Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times.

If so, Gonzalez's run with Milwaukee will have seen him posted a 2.13 ERA in five regular-season starts, and allow two runs on three hits in three postseason innings. Hill was making his first appearance in the NLCS after starting the Dodgers on their way to the victory in the NLDS clincher at Atlanta on October 8. Machado said they go back to their days in the minors.

Gonzalez rolled his ankle on a comebacker off the bat of Yasiel Puig.

Clayton Kershaw will look to bounce back after falling short of expectations on Game 1 of the NLCS in Milwaukee.
