Aaron Ramsey: 'I won't leave Arsenal in January'

"I am contracted to Arsenal and I am going to do my best this season to achieve something special", he said.

Ramsey's contract was the biggest issue with Arsenal this season.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has revealed he will play out the remaining months on his contract and leave the Emirates dwellers for free in June 2019.

The Caerphilly-born midfielder is reportedly in the crosshairs of both Manchester United and Liverpool, with both clubs weighing up January moves for the playmaker.

"What I do like about him and what I will always give him credit for, is that he never hides, never ever hides", Wright said on BBC 5Live. "I just have to get on with it and carry on playing the best I can". "We thought we were in a position where we had agreed a deal but that's no longer the case", he said.

'So I just have to carry on playing my football and do my best for Arsenal this season and I'll leave the rest with the club now. Not only they will lose him for free and won't be able to make money out of the Welshman.

And Wright believes Arsenal's stance with Ramsey was an attempt to regain control from the players in contract negotiations.

The 27-year-old has made six Premier League starts this season and has one goal and a couple of assists in the competition.

The Wales global has seen his future become the subject of much speculation this season after entering the final 12 months of his current agreement with the Gunners.
