Brett Kavanaugh Sworn in as the Next Justice of the Supreme Court

In remarks Thursday, McConnell described last week's anti-Kavanaugh protesters as "literally storming the steps of the Capitol and the Supreme Court", confronting Republicans at restaurants and shouting from visitors' galleries during Senate debates.

US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has been sworn in, again, at an event at the White House but not before President Donald Trump slammed the judge's opponents for a "campaign of personal destruction".

Grassley has led the committee that has jurisdiction over the Department of Justice and Supreme Court nominations since January 2015. A public swearing in ceremony was held at the White House on October 8 and Kavanaugh was surrounded by his wife and two daughters, his parents, members of Congress, all eight current member of the Supreme Court, and supporters from Washington, D.C.'s legal and Catholic communities. At the same time, we can not ignore the fact that many individuals lack an affordable health insurance option.

"In November, the American people will have a golden opportunity to move our country in a dramatically different direction, by voting for Democratic candidates who will work to improve our health care rather than so many of those Republicans candidates who in obeisance to the big insurance companies, work to destroy it", said Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh served mac' and cheese at a charity canteen on Wednesday catering to the homeless and those in need. I must admit, at one point, I was an advocate for Kavanaugh. For the enactment of any major element of their liberal agenda - a $15 minimum wage, "Medicare-for-all" - would die in a Republican Senate, or in the Oval Office where it would face an inevitable veto by Trump.

For the Democratic Party, the Kavanaugh battle was the Little Bighorn, as seen from General Custer's point of view. Supreme Court justices interpret the law and are bound to protect the constitution of the United States. Gorsuch responded with a faux grimace of pain.

"Kevin [Cramer] is just a great person", the president said of the Republican challenging Democrat Sen.

Kavanaugh's first day on the court was yesterday, when he began hearing arguments in Stokeling v.

Roberts asked how hard it is to wrest a dollar bill from a clenched fist and said he had experimented with his law clerks.

Senate Democrats took aim at President Trump's expansion of short-term health care plans Wednesday, forcing a vote on a proposal to roll back the administration's plan to allow insurers to sell low-priced, reduced-benefit plans.

McConnell warned, "So this business of presidential harassment may or may not quite be the victor they think it is". "I speak up when I think it's necessary".

A petition to impeach Justice Kavanaugh has more than 150,000 signatures.

Kavanaugh's confirmation process exploded in controversy after California university professor Christine Blasey Ford went public with allegations that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in 1982, while they were in high school. Two other women accused Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct dating to the 1980s. This accusation from 36 years ago was strongly denied by Kavanaugh and he and Dr. Ford both appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee separately to testify on the accusations.

He later expressed regret over some of his comments.

Julia Guo, CC '22, said that she has seen many of her fellow first-years struggle with violations of consent, specifically in the presence of alcohol, and noted how these experiences often mirror Kavanaugh's alleged behavior.
