Virat, Jadeja Cross Mega Milestones on Day 2 vs Windies

Virat, Jadeja Cross Mega Milestones on Day 2 vs Windies

This did not go down well with the skipper Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Ashwin was the lone wicket-taker in Windies' second innings, after having been enforced follow-on by the hosts.

Kohli, unbeaten overnight on 72, reached his landmark inside the second hour with a boundary to fine leg off Bishoo, and reached the break on 120.

The left-handed batsman tore apart the West Indian bowling as he brought up his fifty with a huge six off paceman Keemo Paul.

"I have made big hundreds in the domestic circuit, so I thought I can get hundreds at the global level too".

Jadeja, playing his 38th five-day game, hit five fours and five sixes during his 132-ball stay. Yes, both the batsmen Hetmyer and Ambris end at the same side.

But with the day drifting towards a close, Dowrich was lured into an injudicious drive at left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav and was bowled, with the ball clipping the top of off-stump.

"I can't think what would have happened if I hadn't hit the stumps, but then I threw it and luckily it hit the stumps".

Skipper Virat Kohli was batting on 120 as India reached 506/5 at lunch on day two of the first Test against West Indies in Rajkot on Friday.

West Indies suffered at the hands of teenager Prithvi Shaw who struck the third-fastest hundred on debut as India dominated the opening day of the first Test here on Thursday.

Kohli put on 133 with Pant, who smashed eight fours and four sixes in his 84-ball knock against an inexperienced attack, only to fall eight runs short of a second Test ton when he edged a Bishoo googly to Keemo Paul.

India rammed home the advantage after 18-year-old opener Prithvi Shaw made 134 on day one to become their youngest batsman to score a century on debut.
