Eagles TROLL Patriots By COPYING Their Super Bowl Plays!

Compared to past year, the season opener, starring the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and the previous season's runner-up Atlanta Falcons, was down a troubling 8%, managing just a 13.4/5 in the metered markets, according to Deadline.

Falcons: S Keanu Neal left the game with a knee injury in the first half. The play against Atlanta was called "Philly Philly".

The Philadelphia Eagles went to a familiar trick play to bring life to their offense in Thursday's season opening win over the Atlanta Falcons.

It wasn't pretty, but the champs opened their title defense with the 18-12 win.

Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson never misses an opportunity to take an unsolicited shot at the Patriots.

Matt Ryan threw five incompletions from the 10-yard line in the final seconds, including a 5-yard fade caught by Julio Jones on the final play, but Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby kept Jones from coming down inbounds.

"I was pleased with the variety in terms of calling plays, especially down in the red zone", Quinn said Friday after watching the tape. In the third quarter of what has been an terrible game between the Falcons and Eagles, Julio Jones made the play of the game by hauling in a 52-yard catch from Matt Ryan.

"That's where we got it from", Eagles coach Doug Pederson said.

Ya think? We wrote last month about how the ongoing drama over players protesting the national anthem was going to hurt the league - and earlier this week sports apparel giant Nike poured gasoline on the fire by launching a new advertising campaign starring former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Matt Ryan admitted to having a poor outing and was 1-for-8 for 3 yards in the red zone, with an interception on a ball intended for Julio Jones.

"Offensively, we were sort of misfiring a little bit", Pederson said.

Foles said they had run that play only once in practice. But I want them to know that one game isn't going to define how we're going to play down there.
