Sarri reveals the reasons behind his departure from Napoli

Sarri reveals the reasons behind his departure from Napoli

Ancelotti was named Napoli's coach a few days later, with Sarri ultimately moving to Chelsea - but not before the clubs negotiated an agreement that blocked him from taking more than one of his former Napoli players with him.

Jorginho was Pep Guardiola's number one transfer target during the recent window, but Chelsea hijacked the deal and Jorginho subsequently ended up following manager Maurizio Sarri from Napoli.

'But now I have Chelsea and I'm happy.

"I still don't know [why I was sacked]", he said.

Meanwhile, Sarri's side take on Cardiff at home in the Premier League next Saturday, September 15, looking to maintain their flawless start.

"The contract the President [Aurelio De Laurentiis] wanted had a release clause up to May 31, and instead they signed Ancelotti on May 21".

Sarri oversaw a runners-up finish in 2017-18, but his future was called into question as links to Chelsea started to emerge.

"I hope so for the city and for the fans", Sarri said.

"Now I hope that Ancelotti can achieve what I came so close to".

"That means his human and professional qualities are extraordinary".

Sarri's Chelsea have won all four of their Premier League matches so far this season, with the boss cutting a notable figure on the Stamford Bridge touchline.

"It's totally different here though. Here it's a party, it's a pleasure to arrive at the stadium and see supporters wearing different shirts having a beer together". I even sign autographs for fans of our opponents on the side of the pitch before and after the game.

"There are games with so much intensity, physicality. Conte has won (trophies) here and it is hard to take his place".

Interestingly, Ancelotti also set that record during his time with the Blues in 2009-10 and Chelsea went on to win the league as well as the FA Cup that year.
