Intel 9th generation Core processors leaked in detail, launch on October 1

Highly anticipated: Rumors surrounding the release dates of Intel's 9th generation of processors have been swirling around for some time now. To me this slide looks a bit dodgy as the Trademark/Family name row says that the i7-9700K is part of the Intel Core 17 family. These three unlocked processors, however, are slated to be launched on October 1.

The i9-9900K will reportedly be Intel's first 8-core CPU with 4.7GHz speed on all eight cores. Please refer to the table for the turbo speeds with regard to the Core i7-9700K. The base frequency is 3.6GHz boosting up to 4.9GHz for two cores.

All three processors have a TDP of 95W, with the only other key differences being the cache and price.

Multiple motherboard vendors have confirmed that upcoming 9000-series of Intel processors will be compatible with existing Z3xx series motherboards. They are six, eight, and eight-core CPUs respectively, with only the Core i9 model enjoying the doubling benefits of hyperthreading, giving it 16 threads. It will have 9MB of L3 cache, and clock speeds ranging from 3.7GHz to 4.6GHz.

Additionally, the leaked roadmap hints at the arrival of the Basin Falls Refresh platform that will bring newCore X-series processors and X299 refresh motherboards.

If you were expecting anything bigger then allow us to disappoint you as, really the ninth-gen chips are mild upgrades on their predecessors, unless Intel has been keeping something very well hidden up its corporate sleeves.
