It's only one preseason game, but there were plenty of reasons to be hopeful.

Barkley is expected to bring a lot to the Giants' offense. He finished up 9 of 22 for 70 yards, a rough outing for the second-year player who did not get a single snap in a regular-season game as a rookie. Eli Apple was badly turned around by Rashard Higgins on a 21-yard completion and on the next play, safety Landon Collins blitzed and linebacker Alec Ogletree failed to lay a glove at the line of scrimmage on tight end David Njoku.
