Viral Video Shows Brooklyn Nail Salon Workers Hitting Woman With A Broom

The video was shared on Friday (Aug 3) by a woman named Mercy Maduka, who was at the New Red Apple Nails on East Flatbush's Nostrand Avenue when the attack happened around 9:30 pm EST.

The woman who initially posted video of the incident also said a patron refused to pay the salon because she felt the employee did not do a good job, prompting the fight. Nail salon worker Li Lin claims that Thomas punched and slapped her in the face, and dragged her on the floor, causing lacerations to the face and substantial neck pain. According to the New York Post, Huiyue Zheng was charged with assault and weapon possession. Both have since been released. Police have not confirmed those details.

Dozens of protestors gathered outside the salon Monday afternoon demanding the business be closed, and asking that locals take their business elsewhere.

"So I'm at the nail salon and they f*cked up a lady's eyebrow and she refused to pay then a fight broke out", Maduka wrote in her Facebook caption.

"Share this cause the cops chose to arrest the black people but not the Chinese people who ganged up on them".

"They always treat us horribly", said another.

Police told Pix11 that Zheng had been hospitalized and had injuries on her face and body. Thomas refused medical treatment, according to police. [If the] police say you pay for the pedicure, then you pay for the pedicure.

The video shows what happened next, with several women attacking one customer with chairs and brooms.

A woman on the sidewalk also held a homemade sign saying, "Take Your Broomsticks and fly away, you witches!"

The video was originally posted on Facebook by the witness. "If you pay for a service and you don't like a service, it's a $5 eyebrow". Instead of making a compromise or including a 3rd party (police) to mediate they attacked them.
