Everton agree €32m fee to snap up Yerry Mina

Everton and Manchester United both remain in the hunt to sign Yerry Mina in what promises to be a fierce battle for the Colombian's signature which could go all the way to deadline day.

It's not believed to be back on with the transfer window slamming shut this Thursday perhaps accelerating the possibility of a deal.

The powerful defender provided some excellent performances for Colombia this summer at the in Russian Federation, where he became the first defender in World Cup history to score three headers at a single tournament.

"I think because he has those reservations about Maguire in terms of lack of Champions League experience, lack of top club experience, and Maguire being two years older than Mina". Really I don't know.

United have signed three players in the form of Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant in the current transfer window but only the former may feature during the season opener versus Leicester City.

Reacting to a report claiming Mina is Everton bound and a Lyon move is out, Aulas took to Twitter.

Spanish outlet Sport states Mina has agreed a five-year contract with the Toffees and will cost £28.5m, just months after arriving in European football from South American side Palmeiras and enduring a tough time in Spain.

Aulas, however, insists Mina could yet be headed to France.

"Yerry is still very interested in OL".

"Maybe with the national team they want him to score goals, and that does also interest us, but, above all, we need him to defend".

The Mirror cite reports coming out of Germany that claim Manchester United chiefs have opened talks with Bayern over a £44.5m [€50m] deal for Boateng after their friendly at the Allianz Arena on Sunday.
