Chelsea have offered N'Golo Kante a new contract worth almost £290,000 a week, which would make him the club's best-paid player.

As the Times report, PSG have been linked with a move for Kante.

However, they may now have to accept paying an inflated price to get the defender Mourinho craves before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday night.

According to reports from Spanish media house, Mundo Deportivo, (h/t Bristol Post), Premier League giants, Manchester United, are close to agreeing on a transfer fee with Barcelona for Colombian worldwide, Yerry Mina.

Meanwhile, Lewis Cook, who captained England's triumphant under-20 World Cup side last summer, is wanted by Tottenham, according to the Daily Star. Paul Pogba who starred in France's world cup winning campaign has warmed to the idea of inheriting Barcelona's legendary midfielder Andres Iniesta's old shirt number of 8.

Kante still has three years remaining on his current deal but the new contract would see him more than double his salary - a figure that now stands at £120,000-a-week.

With the new contract, Kante will be the best-paid player on their squad, ahead of Eden Hazard.

Chelsea have no intention of letting him go, though.

With the two Premier League clubs having rescinded their offers, it leaves Mina with no suitors at the current time.

According to English publication The Times, the 2018 World Cup victor is open to extending his stay at Stamford Bridge.

Everton are said to be waiting in the wings if the move falls through, as they have been pursuing the 23-year-old since the World Cup.
