Mac App Store to Get Redesign in macOS Mojave

A number of other handy additions that macOS Mojave will bring to the Mac, this fall, include News, stocks, Voice memos and group FaceTime.

macOS Mojave will be supported on Macs from mid-2012 and beyond alongside some Mac Pro models from 2010 and beyond.

After years of speculation, Apple shut down the idea of iOS and macOS merging into one platform once and for all at this year's developers conference.

The new wallpapers comprise Mojave Day and Mojave Night creations, with a third special dynamic version of the Mojave Night creation, making three new wallpapers in total for download and inspection.

A dark mode has been something that Mac users have been asking for, for sometime now.

One of the most significant Mojave features is a new Dark Mode. The Preview Pane now shows all of a file's metadata, making it easier to manage media assets. The quick look feature also provides a full-size preview of a file, allowing users to rotate and crop images, mark up PDFs and trim video and audio clips without having to open a separate app.

People who intensively use their Macs know the pain of a cluttered desktop. Mojave also comes with a new way to declutter files by using "stacks", which are essentially automatic groupings of files types, as well as items with specific dates and other tags. Unlike a folder, files in Stacks are directly accessible and you can scrub through them. "Even when there is a lot going on across the system, apps can launch up to twice as fast", Apple said in a statement.

A new Discover feed will be added to showcase curated apps that users might be interested in. Successor to last year's macOS High Sierra, macOS Mojave or macOS 10.14, will bring in many updates but the ones that will really stand out include a new dedicated dark mode including dynamic desktop, enhanced privacy controls in the Safari web browser so it would become even more hard for data companies to track users' activities, and a redesigned Mac app store. New data protections in Safari mean apps will need to get user permission before using the Mac camera and microphone. It'll also raise excitement levels for Mojave launching later this year. Safari now also automatically creates, autofills and stores strong passwords when users create new online accounts.

Users now get new on-screen controls for easy access to every screenshot option and new video recording capabilities. Apple also promised to remove cookies which act as a tracking code for many websites out of Safari completely.
